Frequently asked questions
Where do the rates come from?
From the European Central Bank, via the Frankfurter API. The ECB publishes reference rates on working days at around 16:00 CET, so at weekends you’ll see Friday’s rates. The app always shows the date of the rates you’re viewing.
Does it work offline?
Yes. Convertly saves the most recent rates on your device, so you can keep converting without a connection. You’ll see an “offline” hint and the date of the saved rates.
Is it really free?
Yes — Convertly is free and has no ads.
Which currencies are supported?
Over 30 major world currencies (the ECB reference set), including USD, EUR, GBP, JPY, CHF, CAD, AUD, BRL and more.
How do I add currencies or change my home currency?
Tap the + on the converter to add a currency, swipe or use Edit to remove or reorder. Set your home (base) currency in Settings → Base currency.
How do I use the tools?
Open the Tools tab for the tip & bill splitter and the quick two-currency converter. Tap any currency’s chart from its row’s menu to see the trend.
